A Culinary Adventure at the Queen Mary Sunday Brunch
The Queen Mary is one of the most recognized places in Southern California. Most people who live in or around Long Beach have visited this majestic beauty. But there are people who have no idea that she offers an AMAZING brunch every Sunday. The brunch the Queen Mary offers is one of the biggest I have ever seen with over 50 unique dishes from all around the world. We made a reservation although you can just walk up. But be careful. If it is a holiday or special occasion day you might have to wait awhile or not be able to get in at all. So my suggestion would be to always make a reservation.
Queen Mary’s amazing brunch
Once you get seated brunch starts with a Mimosa or Bellini that your server gets for you. Which let me say one thing about the servers. One of my biggest pet peeves about a brunch is when you are done with your plate it just sits there on the table even after you get a new one. The Queen Mary’s brunch has THE BEST servers. My dirty plates were ALWAYS gone by the time I was back with more food.
OK back to the food. There was so much to choose from! From different types of meat, to breakfast, to mexican I just couldn’t decide what to eat first. They had a omelette station which was HUGE. 2 chefs ready to make your omelette to order. They also had a waffle/pancake station which had as many toppings for your waffles and pancakes as you can think of. So I literally spent the first 10 minutes just walking around looking at everything before I decided on what to start with.
With pasta and sushi and salad I think I tried foods from every single country. Everything was fresh and vibrant. I saw nothing that was wilted or looked bad. As I am typing this right now my mouth is watering and my stomach is gurgling! Man do I want to go back!
I think that one of my favorite stations at the Queen Mary brunch was the meat carving station. They had Prime Rib with Au Jus, Carved Spiral Cut Honey Baked Ham and Turkey With Gravy. The meat carver gave you as much or as little as you wanted and then you topped your own meat if there was a gravy/Au Jus available. I think every single plate I got had some sort of hand carved meat on it.
Oh and the Queen Mary does not forget about the kids! Their kids spread is every childs dream! Chicken Nuggets, Pizza, Grilled Cheese…and of course I tried them! They were delicious and perfect for every kid. And last but not least is the dessert station. By the time we got to dessert I felt like I was going to explode but there was no way I was missing dessert! I tried a little bit of everything including Petite eclaires, Mini Filled Cupcakes and an Ice Cream bar!
As we rolled ourselves off the ship we were already talking about when we would be back because it was that fantastic!
