Brunch Like A Boss At Panini Kabob Grill
Waking up is never easy, but breakfast food makes the process a whole lot sunnier. So start your day off right with a hearty breakfast at Panini Kabob Grill! This awesome Mediterranean cafe serves fresh food daily and is prepared and cooked as if you were in the Mediterranean. They use quality ingredients, including organic eggs, the best imported olive oil and cheeses from Europe, grass-fed and hormone free meats, as well as just-baked bread from La Brea Bakery bread. And you thought they only served kabobs!
On a recent visit, my family of 5 enjoyed a Sunday morning breakfast at the Mission Viejo location that kept us full until dinner time! I cannot stress enough how incredibly fresh the food tastes. Not only that but we dined al fresco with fresh air and sunshine which only elevated our experience.
PKG Breakfast Entrees
Breakfast in our family is like an olympic event. With two male teenage boys, ordering light is not even an option for us. Fortunately for us, PKG has a family style breakfast. It serves 3-4 people for just $19.95. This behemoth comes with: Organic scrambled eggs, french toast, roasted potatoes, pepper bacon and apple chicken sausage. Look at the size of it in comparison to my daughter!! My two boys cleaned this plate like it was their job. Definitely worth every penny.
Omelettes and Scrambles
Hungry for an omelette? Choose any of these three Items and it comes with a choice of toast: Mushroom, Spinach, Tomato, Onion, Green Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Avocado, Basil, Serrano Chile, Capers, Ham, Bacon, Chicken Sausage, Chicken, Turkey, Organic Tofu, Brie Cheese, Smoked Mozzarella, Cheddar or Feta.
My husband ordered a custom scramble with spinach, brie, peppers and avocado. High in protein, gluten-free and low carb.
Open Faced Sandwiches
There is something about an open faced sandwich that makes me very excited. Seeing all the ingredients exposed makes my food taste so much better. So when I saw the open faced smoked salmon sandwich ($12.99) I couldn’t help but do a little happy dance in my chair. You see, salmon is a weakness of mine. I love it raw, baked, broiled, poched , cured, or canned. Just give me all the salmon! This sandwich comes with avocado toast, tomatoes, onions and sustainable smoked salmon. Then it is topped with two poached eggs and capers. Look at all that yummy yolk.
Appetizers
Remember when I said that eating out with my family is an olympic event? Yep, we ordered appetizers before our breakfast. Because……hummus. PKG has the best hummus I’ve ever tasted. The hummus Trio ($8.99) comes with black bean, edamame and regular flavored hummus. It’s served with pillowy soft pita bread, tomatoes and lettuce.
Want something gluten-free? Try their caprese ($9.99). Buffalo Mozzarella, Roma Tomatoes, Fresh Basil, Pesto, Kalamata Olives & Olive Oil will have your mouth watering for more. Even though this looks like a lot of food before breakfast it really isn’t. It’s light and just enough food to wet your appetite.
PKG Dessert
Ok, so I know it’s not normal to eat dessert right after breakfast but our server was talking it up sooo much that it was kind of hard to say no. We didn’t want to be rude, you know? LOL. Besides, baklava isn’t dessert. It’s a protein (walnuts) rich dish, full of history and honey which is good for our bees. You see? You can justify it however you need to. But the tiramisu, yep, that is dessert. And a really good one at that. I mean just look at that spongy, espresso soaked, cake with mascarpone cream, and cocoa powder. You know you want a bite!
Tip: We love the Mission Viejo location for several reasons.
- There is store front parking with easy access to the restaurant.
- Anthony Belsan, floor manager/marketing director is incredibly accommodating and super helpful. He will make sure all of your needs are met.
- The patio is great for fresh air and people watching
