The Bungalow Newport Beach Restaurant Week
Newport Beach Restaurant Week is now in full swing and there are so many fabulous restaurants to choose from. Just last week we dined at The Bungalow in Corona Del Mar and we were blown away at the quality of the food.
The menu is divided in to first course selections, entrees and dessert so you get quite a sampling if things to taste from.
The interior is warm and cozy with several booths and a gorgeous patio that overlooks PCH. It’s so nice to dine with a view.
The corn chowder is outstanding and some of the best I have had in years! It’s thick and viscous with lots of chunks of corn and applewood smoked bacon. Chase it down with a bungalow salad topped with olives, feta and lots of bay shrimp.
I went with a large group so we all shared several entrees! My favorite was the short rib grilled cheese. because it was loaded with arugula and cheese! Two of my favorites!
The Mahi Mahi was also flavorful and the fish was light and flaky. If you are eating healthy and trying to avoid fried foods the wild rice is wholesome and filling.
The fish tacos are also filling and the beans are vegan friendly.
Lastly, the chocolate mousse cups will round out your meal with rich creamy mousse in an edible chocolate shell. It tastes as good as it looks!
