Earl of Sandwich – A Noble Sandwich Eatery @disneylandDTD
As a Disneyland annual passholder I frequent Downtown Disney. As of a little over a year ago there were very few places to get a “quick bite” with small, loud children. Most of the restaurants were fairly pricey and the wait is usually longer then we want to wait. But the other day I tasted some new menu items from the fast casual restaurant Earl Of Sandwich. This fantastic eatery serves up hot sandwiches, cool salads, yummy wraps and freshly baked goodies. You can eat there or take it to go. It’s inexpensive and kid friendly! Their food is also FANTASTIC! It all started back in 1762 when John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, came up with an invention that changed dining forever. With a serving of Roast Beef placed between 2 slices of bread, the Earl created a complete meal he could eat with his hands…….and thus the sandwich was born!
Ordering Process
You enter the doors and just start on down the line. You order exactly what you want and how you want it. You get to choose your sides, drinks and desserts. All before you come to the cash register to pay. Your sandwich is placed in this oven that gently scoots the sandwich through the oven until it comes out the end hot, melty and delicious!
Sandwiches
All of their hot sandwiches are made to order on the Earl’s Artisan Loaf. The two pictured above are The Earl’s Club and the Holiday Turkey. This one is one of my personal favorites called Chipotle Chicken Avocado. It has grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, avocado, lettuce and chipotle sauce. YUUUUMMMMYYY! This one is called The Full Montagu. A crowd favorite. It has Roast beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mustard sauce. They add new items to their menu a few times a year. One of their newest additions is the Philly Cheese steak. I got to try this delicious concoction and boy was it great! Exactly like a Philly cheese steak is supposed to taste. The other sandwich they added was the BBQ chicken sandwich. The BBQ sauce was perfect! No to sweet and not too spicy.
Wraps & Salads
If you’re not into sandwiches but still like that sandwich ease of eating then you should try one of their wraps. They are freshly made to order and huge! They have several to chose from so whatever your taste is they have one for you! Next comes the salads. Their salads are a meal in itself! I tried their Baja Chicken salad. It has Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, cheddar cheese, cilantro, avocado, tomato, roasted corn, black beans and tortilla strips. It was fresh, tasty and satisfying!
Sides
OK so I have to tell you that this is probably my most favorite part of the whole thing. I love Mac N Cheese! And their Mac N Cheese is fantastic! One of the best I have ever tasted. When I found out that one of their new menu items was BACON Mac N Cheese I almost fell over! Pairing 2 of my favorite things is one of the smartest things they have ever done! And let me tell you……biting into that sumptuous bit of Bacon Mac had me feeling that I had died and gone to heaven! They also make their own potato chips. They are delicious and come in several varieties.
Desserts
Last but not least are their freshly made, desserts. They have a variety to choose from. So whether you are a cookie person or a cake person they have something for everyone. Their 4th and final item they have added to the menu is Brownie Bark. Brownie Bark is basically a brownie cookie. It’s so delicious and crunchy! A perfect end to a meal or just a great snack if you need a little chocolate. My daughter’s favorite part…of course the Brownie Bark! If I would have just let her eat that I would have been the best mom in the whole world…..according to a 2 year old! So if you are in the neighborhood, getting ready to go to Disneyland or just looking for a place for a great sandwich, stop on by and go see this guy! His name is Domingo Baccay Jr. He is the manager of one of the best sandwich shops I have ever eaten at! Tell him Erin from Eat Drink OC sent ya!
I have been to a sandwich place in our area and I can say it’s nice and quick.

The Chipotle Chicken Avocado looks really good – that’s great presentation of the foods on their part. Makes me want to eat there. I love hearty salads like that too. I also want to try the Bacon mac & cheese. YUM! Those chocolate chip cookies look delicious!
YUM!!! Looks delicious!!!
Sandwiches are my favorite thing to eat. Everything looks so good!
The food looks amazing!! I wish we had something like this around us. Making me hungry. 🙂
All of this looks fantastic! The sandwiches looked great… then the salads. I’m a sucker for sweets but the bacon mac ‘n cheese was the one that really caught my attention!
I love a good sandwich. But those were big, don’t think I could manage a dessert after 😉
I have not been there yet….but am thinking I need to go lol. The place looks pretty good. We are in St Pete, so not too far from Downtown Disney. We usually drive over that way every few months.
Can you say YUMMY! I mean wow everything looked perfect but then again I did not expect anything but perfection in Disney. I love the fact that you can feel at home with kids and also not have to sell your left arm. Hoping I make it to Disney to help be able to taste it and experience it myself/ Thanks for sharing:)
I have to agree with you. Downtown Disney never had a great place to get a quick bite. But this place looks amazing! I will definitely be checking it out. Thanks for sharing!
