Gluten-Free Dining Options At Knott’s Berry Farm
Disclaimer: Always ask about cross contamination or if sauces contain gluten.
Living a gluten-free lifestyle doesn’t have to be difficult or stressful. Half of my family eats a gluten-free diet by choice because they simply feel better eating this way. And as a family of 5 we are constantly on the go which means we eat out A LOT. Being a Berry Blogger this year, we have spent a lot of time having a blast at Knott’s Berry Farm and when it’s time to eat we never have to worry about finding gluten-free options. Here are some of our favorite places to dine while in the park:
Boardwalk BBQ
Located adjacent to Timber Mountain Log Ride, Boardwalk BBQ is the newest restaurant offering savory smokehouse options. Choose from barbecue ribs, pulled pork, rotisserie chicken, tri-tip, sausage and more paired with classic side dishes like roasted corn on the cob, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, cornbread and others. Beer is available. The rotisserie chicken and the pulled pork are two of my favorites and the portion sizes are so big that you can easily share between two people. Even my daughter who eats like a bird loves the chicken here!
La Papa Loca
Your life will forever be changed once you try carne asada fries. It’s literally my favorite thing to eat at Knott’s and La Papa Loca is your destination for fries! The quick service counter offers fries covered in various toppings. Las Papa Loca specialties include carne asada fries, garlic fries, nacho cheese fries, waffle fries and chili cheese fries. Or start from scratch and pick from your choice of waffle or shoe string fries then adorn your selection with sides of ranch, jalapeno, sour cream or guacamole. Located across from WaveSwinger in Fiesta Village, you can’t miss this hot potato item.
Fireman’s BBQ
I am a carnivore and pretty much eat meat with every meal so Fireman’s BBQ is a perfect fit for me. I can choose from ribs, chicken flank steak sandwiches, giant turkey legs, and baked potatoes. They also have a variety of BBQ sauce that are made fresh at Knott’s Berry Farm. All meat is marinated for hours and grilled to perfection. Don’t miss the fan favorite Fire Roasted Corn on the Cob. Just follow the savory aromas to Bird Cage Square, located in front of the Bird Cage Theatre. Outside dining is available in the heart of Ghost Town at cute picnic tables. There is even a sink to wash your hands. They do offer an incredible jalapeno cornbread but obviously it’s not gluten-free so resist the temptation!
Grizzly Creek Lodge
Nestled in the woods of Camp Snoopy, Grizzly Creek lodge is the spot to have a delicious meal between adventures. Try their classic hamburgers with a gluten-free bun featuring a build your own burger condiment bar with over a dozen items. You can also find hot dogs with gluten-free buns, Gluten-Free pizza, Gluten-Free mac& cheese and fresh salads. Dine inside or on the patio by Grizzly Creek Falls. It has a very rustic feel inside and you can refill your icees here!
Panchos Tacos
Corn tortillas are a lifesaver! So if you are looking for some south of the border flavor, you’ve come to the right place! Pancho’s Tacos has a delicious selection of tacos and nachos, as well as beer and wine. All of the meats are marinated and freshly grilled to perfection. Enjoy a side of corn chips and salsa or some guacamole. With seating in the nearby plaza, Pancho’s Tacos is the perfect place to grab a meal and enjoy the festive environment of Fiesta Village. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options are available upon request. Pancho’s Tacos is a quick service counter located in Fiesta Village between the rides La Revolucion and Hat Dance.
Sarsaparilla, Popcorn and Pickles in the Calico Saloon
The Calico Saloon is one of my favorite places inside Knott’s. It’s a great place to sit, relax and enjoy a refreshment in between rides and shows. Can you believe it’s been open since the 1940s? It’s Located in the center of the park and is home to the infamous Sarsaparilla beverage!
After wandering through the classic swinging saloon doors, mosey on up to the counter where the bar keep can fix you a drink. Adults can find alcoholic drinks including beer and wine while younger cowpoke may fancy a sarsaparilla or boysenberry punch.
Classic snacks like popcorn and pickles are also available in the Calico Saloon.
