Introduce your kids to Sushi at Sango Sushi
I absolutely love sushi. I eat it whenever I can. However, eating sushi often is pricey so I don’t do it as much as I’d like to. I am trying to introduce my 3 kidsĀ to it but they have been a bit resistant to it. There is a local place near me called Sango Sushi that is a fast casual sushi restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring it to you when it is ready. Unfortunately the service here is painfully slow but the sushi itself is not too bad. Obviously it’s not top grade sushi but it certainly hits the spot when you are craving a quick bite.
Recently I dined there with all 3 kids and I ordered them each a kids plate. This fun little ensemble come with a bowl of teriyaki chicken with a pile of rice underneath, a container of edamame, 3 california rolls, and an orange boat with a cherry and cocktail umbrella. I know what you are thinking…. this is NOT sushi and you are right. However I am slowly introducing them to the idea of it. My 11 year old tried the california rolls and he loved them. He even asked me what other rolls he could try next time. So I feel happy that I am slowly expanding his palate.
The price point at Sango Sushi is a bit lower than most sushi places allowing you to try new things for not a lot of money. There are 2 other Sango Sushi locations as well. One in Los Alamitos and one in Huntington Beach. For a full Menu visit their website at http://www.sangosushi.com/index.html.
