Islands Burgers Has Relocated to Mission Viejo
New Islands Burgers In Mission Viejo
Goodbye Farrell’s, hello Islands! The iconic Hawaiian restaurant with the paradise theme has taken up a permanent residence inside the shops at Mission Viejo. The result is a fresh new hip interior and exterior, as well as the addition of an outdoor patio with fireplace!
On a recent visit I was pleased to see that the theme in this restaurant is a bit different from the early Islands Restaurants. No longer are there parrots hanging from palm trees, instead there is surf art on the walls, beautiful wood floors, lots of big screen TV’s and wide open seating.
I tried a delicious bowl of chicken tortilla soup for the first time last week and I really enjoyed how hearty it was. I had no idea they even served soup but i was very impressed. There was a lot of shredded chicken and the soup was not spicy, just the way I like it. I also found out that they serve chili cheese fries! How did I not know this?
Islands is also known for their cheddar cheese fries and you can add bacon to them for even more happiness! Their chicken wings are definitely spicy and pack quite the punch so if you like some heat, this is the way to go!
Overall, the menu is still the same and they have all the classics like the shore bird, bleunami burger, and their famous hula pie!!! If you have gluten sensitivities like we do in our family Islands can easily bring out your burgers lettuce wrapped with some iceberg lettuce.
Personally, I love the salads which are really big and you could even split one with your guest. my favorite is the china coast salad. Don’t forget their thick cut onion rings!
