Johnny Rocket’s new menu items are Rockin’
Last week was the first day of school for my son Erik, who is a big 5th grader now. I cannot believe how time has flown by. This is his last year in elementary school! Can you believe it?!? So as a treat I decided to take him on a mother/son date to Johnny Rocket’s. We LOVE Johnny Rocket’s. We both love cheeseburgers and their bacon cheese fries are to die for! ( We will go into those later. 🙂 ) Maybe he love’s cheeseburgers so much because I craved them when I was pregnant. I literally ate cheeseburgers during my pregnancy with him at least 4 times a week!
Johnny Rocket’s is a SUPER cute throw back to the good ol’ days. We went to the one at The Spectrum in Irvine. They had several tables inside and a large patio outside so you can people watch. Another fun past-time of ours. They also have bar seating were you can watch them make your food and prepare your drinks. It’s a place you can get a great burger, fries and of course a shake.
JOHNNY ROCKET’S NEW LIMITED TIME MENU ITEMS
One of Johnny Rocket’s new menu items features flavors from across the globe with its International Flavors limited time offer menu items. We decided to order their Reese’s Peanut Butter Shake made with premium ice cream, Reese’s peanut butter sauce, chocolate syrup and topped with mini Reese’s peanut butter pieces and whipped cream. It also came with a WHOLE Reese’s peanut butter cup! This shake was AMAZING! Because they used the Reese’s peanut butter sauce instead of regular peanut butter it tasted EXACTLY like a Reese’s!So delish!
Then they brought our appetizer. Their bacon cheese fries is on their regular menu and is something our family always orders. We usually order our burgers without fries and a large plate of Bacon Cheese Fries that we all share. And of course they gave us their signature ketchup cups with the smiley faces.
I had the Mexican Chipotle Guacamole Chicken sandwich which has pepper jack cheese melted on a cage-free grilled chicken breast topped with fresh hand-made guacamole, spicy chipotle ranch sauce, tomato, spring greens all served on a wheat bun. Now I have to say that this was an unusual choice for me because I love burgers, but I convinced my son to share his burger and I would share my chicken sandwich. But let me tell you….I would order this instead of a burger!! Yes you heard that right…this sandwaich was FANTASTIC! Just a tad spicy and so full of flavor that I almost wished I had been able to eat the whole thing myself.
Erik decided to get the new Irish Pub Burger which has cheddar pub cheese melted on a beef patty cooked-to-order, with 100 percent fresh beef and topped with caramelized onions, grilled mushrooms, Dijon mayonnaise, tomato and spring greens on a butter toasted pretzel bun. After explaining what a “pub” was we each took a bite and it was like heaven in our mouths. It as a perfect blend of ingredients that we actually didn’t take anything off. Which is highly unusual with him…..he really is growing up!
Another burger (not shown) that Johnny Rocket’s serves up is the Korean BBQ Burger which features provolone cheese, melted on a beef patty, cooked-to-order, with 100 percent fresh beef, and topped with a sweet Korean BBQ sauce with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise on an artisan bun.
Johnny Rocket’s has TONS of other classic food to choose from and everything they make is to order and really tasty. If you are around The Spectrum in Irvine go check out Johnny Rocket’s and ask for Ruben Franco. He is the district manager and will happily take your order and get you anything you need.
