Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ
Over the Thanksgiving Holiday my family and I dined at Lucille’s BBQ to try out their new Fall classics menu. I have never had a bad meal here and I was looking forward to eating some delicious BBQ.
The seasonal menu items revolved around turkey, which I love and usually only eat once a year. There was turkey sandwiches, turkey casseroles, and Smoked Turkey and Bacon Hash.
One of my favorite things about Lucille’s is they serve you your soft drinks in a huge mason jar. It makes it so you don’t have to constantly be asking for a refill and your drink stays cooler because they can fit more ice into it.
We started out by enjoying some of their famous biscuits and apple butter. These biscuits are absolutely amazing. They were served warm and fresh out of the oven. The biscuits have a light coat of sugar on top and are moist and fluffy. The apple butter is creamy, sweet and have small bits of apples intertwined. When both are combined, you almost have a meal in itself, it’s that good. Best thing is that the biscuits and apple butter are complementary with your meal.
After the biscuits I had a house salad. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and had cucumbers, tomatoes and shredded carrots. The croutons on top had a nice seasoning on them as well.
For my main entree I chose the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy southern stuffing and roasted garlic mashed potatoes.. It was served open faced with a slice of white bread underneath. The cranberry sauce was very good but I wish It had some green beans to accompany it.
My husband and my son’s shared the BBQ chicken and two meat platter. It came with a Smoked BBQ half chicken, brisket, and pulled pork ribs. They also got a side of macaroni and cheese as well as a huge stuffed baked potato.
The chicken moist and tender as well as the ribs. The meat came right of the bone. The brisket was slightly dry but the sauce was sweet and delicious to balance the texture of the meat.
The baked potato was enormous and was served with butter, sour cream, bacon chives and melted cheddar cheese. It didn’t even need any salt or pepper and it was flavored just perfectly from the bacon.
Lucille’s is a great family friendly restaurant and our server was super fun. She engaged my daughter and we all cracked jokes together. I love the decor of the restaurant as it feels like your just hanging out in someones backyard. Plus the booths have coat hangars on them! Why I can’t check the balance on my gift card.
There’s no number on the back of Lucille’s gift card. So how do you find your balance.
