Review: Chelas Mexican Grill
Chela’s Location
Tucked away in a busy strip mall with other fast casual restaurants, Chela’s Mexican Grill has proven to be a long standing contender due to their quality food and affordable prices.
Chela’s puts a modern twist on Traditional mexican food by offering unique dishes and pleasing portion sizes. I honestly had no idea this restaurant even existed for the past 5 years so I am really glad I had a chance to try it.
Chela’s Salsa
If you enjoy salsa, you will LOVE Chela’s house salsa. It’s the perfect amount of heat and sweet. I was kicking myself after I left because I should have bought extra to bring home for another day. Their guacamole was also very good and the chips they serve were also extremely fresh.
Chela’s Entree’s
Do you like verde sauce? Chela’s has Enchiladas with a tangy verde sauce that comes with beans and chips. It’s was a nice change from the red sauce typically served with this dish.
If you are gluten free, Chela’s Bowl is a perfect fit! Grilled chicken or steak, shredded lettuce, jicama, black beans, rice, pico de gallo & guacamole are served in a bowl big enough to share!
There is also plenty for the little ones to eat! I brought a 10-year-old with a huge appetite and we cleaned an entire plate of eEl Macho nachos.
My 5-year-old enjoyed a bean, rice and cheese burrito. if there is an ingredient you want to add or remove, just tell the cashier and they will have you order customized.
Chela’s Dessert
If you are still hungry after your meal, Chel’as offers with Carrot Cake with a secret recipe topped with cream cheese frosting or delicious chocolate chip cookie!
