Susiecakes Now Open in Costa Mesa

It’s time to celebrate! Susiecakes is now open in Costa Mesa! I had the pleasure of being able to attend the opening of Susiecakes Bakery in the trendy SOCO area of Costa Mesa. As I arrived I ran right into Susie herself. Susie told me that the bakery began from her love of baking with her grandmother. In fact, the recipes used in the store are her grandmothers and on this special day, she even wore her grandma’s ring!

Susie said she wasn’t out to reinvent the wheel when it came to baking, just to make really delicious goods from quality ingredients. With that, Susiecakes has become a success and this is the 10th location that has opened! Sticking with the good old fashion theme, Susie’s bakery has a retro feel to it.

The signature blue was inspired by the blue from the pyrex bowl that Susie’s grandmother would use in her own kitchen. The bakery specializes in layered cakes and buttercream frostings, but believe me, they don’t stop there!

There are killer cookies, amazing cupcakes, old fashion banana pudding and yes, 7 layer bars along with many other sweet treats. They also allow you to create your own cake and have professional decorators on hand to make the cake for your next special occasion.

You can get a cookie as big as your face or a mini cupcake for your little ones. I got to try many of the treats that Susiecakes bakery makes daily and they were just amazing! She was right, no need to reinvent the wheel. These old fashion goodies were perfect from the start!
