Saint Marc Pub Huntington Beach
Saint Marc Pub-Cafe is a remarkable and noticeably new restaurant concept that has just arrived in Surf City, Huntington Beach. This amazing restaurant offers exceptional, nostalgic Americana cuisine in ambient SoCal comfort. With a large outside rustic patio, Saint Marc prides itself on being both family and pet-friendly with exceptional views and comfortable weather. Saint Marc bends traditions and blurs the lines between kitchen, staff and customer, with open spaces revealing every aspect of a restaurant’s heart and soul.
Last month I had the opportunity to visit and sample some of their food before they opened to the public. The entrance to Saint Marc’s is simply stunning. There are glass doors that slide open to give it a breezy, open-air feel showcasing sunbeams that glisten throughout. The walls are decorated with cute pictures, and there are friendly welcome signs on the counters.
The open-air kitchen has glass walls so guests can watch the chefs prepare their food. Also, the dishes are made of Melamine but look like the real thing and the forks are actually “sporks” .
Orders are taken via ipad
An innovative, iPad menu system, used tableside and at free standing stations, offers images and on-demand ordering of any of Saint Marc’s items for in-house dining or take out.
Bacon Bar
If you love bacon you will fit in very well here. The bacon bar menu includes 11 bacon cuts and flavors – Nueske wild cherry, apple pie bacon, coffee-rubbed bacon, English-style bacon and garlic Parmesan bacon. Prices typically range from $1.50-$3; the tender belly habanero bacon is $20. One serving typically includes two long, thick slices.
The Food
During my visit, I had my 5-year old daughter with me and her little friend so when we were seated they brought out this awesome collection of Mediterranean olives, Marcona almonds and cheeze-it’s for the girls! I can honestly say that being served cheeze-it’s is a first for me and I was super impressed!
First up were some delicious deviled eggs. Thin strips of bacon make these hor’s de vors irresistible!
Then came some bacon wrapped dates drizzled with maple syrup. Yum!
If you like cheese perhaps a Charcuterie board will be a nice selection for you. A variety of exotic cheese, vegetables and honeycomb are served with crisp warm bread.
Speaking of cheese, they have a burrata that is outstanding. It pairs nicely with a slice of crostini and some drizzled vinegar.
Kids will love the peanut butter marshmallow sandwich (and adults will too)
And for dessert, make sure to get the chocolate Fondue! You will have fresh fruit like strawberries, grapes and pineapple as well as puffy marshmallows to dip in warm chocolate. And this chocolate is the real deal! Not that oily fountain chocolate.
